Essling Capital is an independent Private Equity firm founded by Frank Noël-Vandenberghe and Michele Mezzarobba. Essling Capital is born from the emancipation of the Private Equity team of Massena Partners, an asset management and investment firm.
Headed up by Michele Mezzarobba, the new company is wholly owned by its partners. Thanks to the existing team of 13 experts, Essling Capital will continue to develop the opportunistic and visionary model that has underpinned the success of Massena Partners’ Private Equity business.

Essling Capital currently has more than EUR 1 billion in assets under management in Europe and abroad and aims to double its investment capacity within three years. The firm offers to its international investors opportunities across all asset classes including minority Co-investments, Funds of Funds (primary and secondary), Real Estate and Non-Listed Debt. Other investment strategies are currently being finalized.
Biography of Frank Noël-Vandenberghe, Founding Partner of Essling Capital
Frank Noël-Vandenberghe founded Massena Partners in 1989. Boasting over 25 years’ recognized market experience, Frank has proved his outstanding ability to create value for the families he advises by participating in over 60 non-listed deals at Massena Partners in Private Equity, Real Estate and Debt. Frank graduated from State University of San Diego (USA) and from University Lille 2 (France).
Biography of Michele Mezzarobba, President of Essling Capital
Michele has gained over 20 years’ experience after starting out at Oddo & Cie before moving to the M&A department at Paribas and then the M&A team at Rothschild & Co. Since 2004 he was CFO, Executive Board Member and Head of Proprietary Investments at Paris Orléans (Rothschild & Co). Michele joined Massena Partners in 2015 as a partner and headed up the Group’s non-listed investments. He graduated from Bocconi University in Milan (Italy) and earned an MBA from Wharton School (Philadelphia – USA).
